1) The following error is seen in the Agent Logs and Event Viewer: This implementation is not part of the Windows Platform FIPS validated cryptographic algorithms.

2) The following error is seen in Windows Event Setup error log :"Exception setting product registry entries: "InstallHashLib.AesEncryption' threw an exception"

3) check from the registry path having partial key created without values. sample screenshot below.

Dirsync agent stays offline after installation. There were no errors during installation.

1. Open Local Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc).
2. Click Computer Configuration> Windows Settings> Security Settings> Local Policies>Security Options.
3. Scroll to 'System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing and signing' (this should not be enabled).
4. Ensure the policy is DISABLED.
5. Repeat on all Windows servers in your FARM which are affected.
6. Perform gpupdate /force.
7. Verify the setting and ensure the policy is disabled.

Additional you can check in the cloud tenant the following setting.
In Microsoft Intune, the following setting under Device restrictions -> Password must be set to Not configured:

Update: the new agent with FIPS support was released in November 4th, 2025.  Please make sure to install the new agent if FIPS is enabled.
