Directory Sync workflow event "Write: Directory Operation Error"
Description

When running a Directory Sync workflow using On Demand Migration for Active Directory (ODM AD) there is a similar event in the sync log file. The objects are not updated
and ODM AD is not updating the objects writing the update to the target domain and this error is in the logs.

"Write: Directory Operation Error (InvalidDNSyntax): 0000208F: NameErr: DSID-03100232, problem 2006 (BAD_NAME), data 8349, best match of:
(distinguishedName=<GUID=brtf8343-841f-48536-8179-5567f0>)"
Cause

There can be multiple causes to see this type of logging event, a change to the objects that are being synced has occurred in either the source or target AD environment or the template used has an issue with the changes to the default logic.
Resolution

There are multiple resolutions possible to correct this issue that can occur during the Directory Sync workflow.

Resolution 1:
Set the source and target ODM DirSync Environment to perform a "Reconcile on Next Read" and run the ODM AD DirSync workflow. The errors should disappear.

Resolution 2:
Verify that the advance mapping logic is properly formatted and checking for typos.
