PostgreSQL Backup Failed and the following messages are logged by NetVault Backup (NVBU) -
Starting Program '/usr/bin/pg_dump'
pg_dump: server version: 8.3.10; pg_dump version: 8.1.18
pg_dump: aborting because of version mismatch (Use the -i option to proceed anyway.)
Failed with exit code 1
NVBU plugin for PostgreSQL uses the PostgreSQL native backup utility, 'pg_dump'. Each version of PostgreSQL requires a specific version of 'pg_dump', which is included with 'pgadmin'.
The backup fails because the version of 'pg_dump' is not compatible with the version of PostgreSQL installed.
'pg_dump' must be upgraded to the same version as the PostgreSQL server. Upgrade "pgadmin" to match the version of PostgreSQL installed.
If the appropriate version of "pgadmin" is already installed, search for the 'pg_dump' binary/executable in the "pgadmin" installation bin directory, then copy it to the PostgreSQL installation bin directory.
