Performing a restore of an SQL 2005 database to another machine running an SQL 2008 database.
The following errors were logged in the Binary Log:
1] Error 2011/09/19 14:31:25 3329 Data Plugin QAPARMSCSWV001 Unexpected termination.
2] Error 2011/09/19 14:31:25 3329 Data Plugin QAPARMSCSWV001 ODBC error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]
[SQL Server]The media family on device 'BAKBONE6824' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family.
With sub text:
ODBC Error Number:42000, MsgState=1, Severity=16, Servername=QA-PARSQLSWV002, ProcName=, LineNumber=1, Message:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]The media family on device 'BAKBONE6824' is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family.
3] Error 2011/09/19 14:31:25 3329 Data Plugin QAPARMSCSWV001 ODBC error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] [SQL Server]RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

4] Error 2011/09/19 14:31:25 3329 Data Plugin QAPARMSCSWV001 The SQL VDI command failed.
The cause of the error is that the SQL Server versions are not 100% the same. They need to be same version, Service Pack level and any hot fixes outside of Service Pack as well.
The NetVault and Plugin versions need also to be the same.
