Backup Failed - Media Manager 'DeviceTree' table failed raw database check (65) -
Description
A NetVault Database (NVDB) backup fails with the following error - "Media Manager 'DeviceTree' table failed raw database check (65)".

Cause
The NVDB backup fails because NVBU failed to read either of the following files -
- /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Records/DeviceTree
- /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Indexes/DeviceTree
(Linux/UNIX example given - on Windows the equivalent folders are in "...\NetVault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Records" and "...\NetVault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Indexes").

Resolution
Restore the Media Database from an NVDB backup to alternate machine, then copy the "DeviceTree" files to the production backup server.
1. Install NetVault Backup (NVBU) server on an alternate machine (same version of NVBU and same operating system as the production backup server).
2. Stop NVBU on alternate machine.
3. Start NVBU Configurator on alternate machine - go to "Security" page and enable "This machine may be added as a client to a server" and "Disable Security".
4. Press APPLY and then start NVBU on alternate machine.
5. Add alternate machine as a client to the production backup server.
6. Open the NVBU 'Restore' screen. Identify an NVDB backup which competed successfully and open. Select "Media Database" for restoration.
7. On the 'Target' page select the alternate machine.
8. Submit the restore job.Once the restore completes stop NVBU on the production backup server, then execute the following commands -
* cp /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Records/DeviceTree /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Records/DeviceTree.old
* cp /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Indexes/DeviceTree /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Indexes/DeviceTree.oldOn Windows use Explorer to rename the "DeviceTree" files to "DeviceTree.old" in each location.
Copy the following files from the alternate machine to the production backup server -
* /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Records/DeviceTree
* /usr/netvault/db/MediaDatabase/Indexes/DeviceTree(Linux/UNIX examples given - on Windows the equivalent folders are in "...\NetVault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Records" and "...\NetVault Backup\db\MediaDatabase\Indexes").
