Index files were not being deleted from the .../netvault/tmp directory after a successfully completed backup.
The Index is written temporarily to the .../netvault/tmp directory during a backup and once the Index has been successfully written to the NVDB and then the media, the Index should be deleted after the backup completes successfully.
If there are any Index files left over after your backups have completed, then these can be manually deleted.
We upgraded the NetVault Server and Client from 8.5.3 Build 4 to 8.6.1 Build 9 and ran existing backups.
The Index was now automatically deleting from the .../netvault/tmp directory after a successfully completed backup.
Also tried a new test backup to see if the Indexes were being deleted afterwards and the Index was successfully deleted.
