Title: Failed to get device tree from Server
Product & Version: NetVault All
OS Version: All
Module & Version: N/A
Application version: N/A
Symptoms:
Running the CLI utility "nvcheckdrive returns an error:
"Failed to get device tree from Server [SERVER_NAME]"
The cause for this error was that the user being used for the CLI commands did not have the required privileges to run that command i.e. a NetVault Users (Access Control).
This is not to be confused with logging into the NetVault Server as an Administrator / Domain Administrator to use the NetVault Software and Command Line (CLI).
In the case of nvcheckdrive the user may be allowed to use CLI tools but may not have the privilege to manage devices - (the nvcheckdrive command requires this privilege).
The NetVault user account will need to be modified to grant this privilege.
