Phase 2 datacopies between 2 DR’s are waiting for media when the DR media is available. When diagnosing the job, you will see the message “Accessing load on device”.
The most common cause for this is network latency to DR appliance or from DR to DR.
The following tweaks will increase timeouts if having issues with phase 1 or phase 2 DR backups.
[Media Requests:RAS quiesce time]
Value=0
Under Web UI > Change Settings > Media Manager we have change:
- "Transfer Update Frequency (Seconds)" = 20
- "RAS device start transfer batch timeout time (in seconds)" = 1100
Add this parameter to the netvault/config/rascontroller.cfg file if it does not exist:
[Active: StatsUpdateTimeout]
Value = 3600
[Timeout:RasActiveServerUpdateTimeout]
Value=40
[Timeout:RasOfflineServerUpdateTimeout]
Value=0
This controls the timeout between two attempts for updating stats file on the DR container.By default the RAS controller will update every 10 seconds and can become stuck with too many updates
