Sometimes it is necessary to collect tape drive trace when diagnosing failed tape backups to do this enable tape trace as follows:
cluster1::> storage tape trace -node <nodename> -is-trace-enabled true

tape trace output is put in /mroot/etc/log/ems log file with many other events. This file will be required for analyzing the trace output.
