Description

Cause
When performing a backup, either through NDMP or from the command line, the error message "Cannot update the dump data used by future incremental dumps" is displayed. The "dump data" is updated correctly but the message is displayed in error and is a NetApp bug. -
Resolution

actually present. If it is, ignore the message. If it isn't, there is
