When attempting to configure the SnapVault Manager plug-in 3.0, a pop up is return indicating:
"Failed to get connection to plug-in"
In the background, we can see the SnapVault Manager process repeatedly crashing then re-spawning.
Bug 32689 has been raised to address this issue.
The SnapVault Manager process configuration file sv.cfg is set at installation with 'default' user without password.
If the NetVault 'default' user has a password, then the Auditor process will always block the SnapVault Manager process from starting since it tries to authenticate without password when the default user has a password.
Manually inputting the password in the sv.cfg file won't help as password must be encrypted before storing.
WORKAROUND:
Temporarily disable the 'default' user password to allow configuration of the SnapVault Manager plug-in.
STATUS:
Bug 32689 will be resolved in a future version of the SnapVault Manager Plug-in.
