NetVault on Solaris won't start due to shared memory reservation error - Netvault shared memory key 0xecb is in use -
Description
NetVault: Backup fails to restart on Solaris, typically after a crash or failure of NetVault. Enabling tracing shows that only the Process Manager begins, and fails with a message like:
3 SHM :17607 3 0 041730.327844 ShmInitialize: Netvault shared memory key 0xecb is in use
Using this key, we can see that a shared memory segment is still active under this key:
# ipcs -mA

But, the process that owns the segment is not running. The following command is empty:
