After restoring a Bare Metal Recvory (BMR) backup of a Linux KVM server to alternate hardware, the guest OSes network connectivity fails.
KVM virtual machines require a bridged network, which is configured via networking-scripts on the host server. The configuration requires an explicit reference to the server's MAC address. After restore to alternate hardware, this MAC becomes invalid. Network connectivity for the guests is no longer possible.
After restoring the BMR backup, the bridged interface portion of the KVM server's networking-scripts file must be edited or recreated to reflect the new MAC address.
