The user needs to restore a SQL database but not to original instance where the database was located.
Launch Netvault Administration Console.
Go to the restore Menu.
Double click on the client where the SQL APM backup was done.
Browse the savesets and locate the requested backup to restore.
Select the database(s) required to restore.
Go to restore options.
In the "Target instance" field insert the name of the instance where the database will be restored.
The other options in this window are user specified. Please check the SQL APM guide to find out what each of the options does.
In the target client tab, select the client where database(s) will be restored to. This could be the original client where the backup was done or another netvault client. The latter must have the same version of Netvault client and SQL APM software.
In the title field of the job name your restore job.
Save and submit the job.
Go to the job management menu and locate the job you have just submitted. Monitor it and make sure it has completed successfully.
Finally, connect to the targeted SQL Server instance to verify the databases were restored there.
