NetVault Environment
NetVault Server: 9.2 installed on Debian 6.0.9.
NDMP Plugin: 7.6.11 with NDMP 5.7.5 Patch installed.
Filer: NetApp with OnTap 8.2P5 C-Mode.
The following errors were found in the logs:

Resolution
The problem was that the path for the NDMP Plugin was incorrect.
The correct path to resolve this backup issue is:/svm-iscsi02/EXCH_2010_SRVC1_DB_AKRO/.snapshot/exchsnap__exch-2010-srvc1__recent

Section 3.3.0 mentions the following, as you cannot browse the volumes in C-Mode:
Important: In NetApp ONTAP 8.x C-Mode, you cannot open the Volumes node to browse or select the contents. However, you can specify a single data path for a backup. For details on backing up an individual data path, refer to Backing Up Individual Data Paths in C-Mode on page 19.
Then the directory information is on Page 19:
Directory – Enter the complete path to the entity that is to be backed up.
You can include a single volume, qtree, directory or snapshot. Individual files are not supported. The backup will fail if you specify a file name.
To specify the backup path for a snapshot, use the following format:
/<vservername>/<volumename>/.snapshot/<snapshotname>
For example:
/vs1/vol2/.snapshot/daily.2011-11-16_0010
