Date: May 2011
Product & Version: NVSD 1.2.1
OS Version: Linux
Symptoms:
Using the 'config -update' command in the NVSD cli to update a particular volume will result in actually updating the entire storage pool volume set.
/nvsd_vol1/ resides in Storage Pool: Storage Pool = FaultTolerant
Example:
.../foundation/bin/smartdisk.sh config --update --volume /nvsd_vol1 --favour None --deny All
*The above command will result in ALL volumes under the "Fault Tolerant" Storage Pool to be updated with the new '--favour None --deny All' rules
Solution/Workaround Procedure:
The documentation does not clarify that you have to specify the actual storage pool in the command when you specify the exact path of the volume you are trying to update. To get this to work properly you, you have to specify the storage pool as well as the path of the volumes you wish to update.
For Example:
/foundation/bin/smartdisk.sh config --update --volume /StoragePoolsA /nvsd_vol1 --favour None --deny All
