Trying to run any command in SmartDisk, primarily from 'C:\Program Files(x86)\Quest Software\NetVault SmartDisk\Foundation\bin' the error is received:
"nvsh.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file"
Upon examination of the /bin directory, you will notice an irregularity from the standard folder contents and find this folder to be void of any executables.
The required files for execution of any commands in NVSD were not installed from a corrupt partial installation or the files were deleted somehow.
There are two options in this situation
Option A) Uninstall and reinstall SmartDisk following the steps in the NetVault SmartDisk Installation and Upgrade Guide found here: https://support.quest.com/technical-documents/book/1009
Option B) Install SmartDisk on another machine, same OS and path. Copy the contents of the \bin directory from the install of the temp SmartDisk instance into the \bin directory on the orignal. Also, make sure that the user has permissions to that directory.
Test an executable in that directory such as \bin-> smartdisk.bat status
If commmand runs at all and you do not see the 'nvsh.exe is not recognized' error, then the executables now work.
