Restore from tape fails with error "NDMP data does not start on a block boundary" from NDMP backup
We are trying to restore from NDMP backups taken from a FluidFS 8600, however every time we try an error is returned;"NDMP data does not start on a block boundary"Followed by;(IBM ULTRIUM-TD6): had channel error -
Cause
You back up the data as “Fluid FS| NDMP | Smartdisk | Datacopy | Tape”
NDMP data relies BOTH on block size and offset and they need to be in sync.NVSD is hardcoded to run @ 32KB -
Resolution
Workaround:
1. Change the block size on Drives to 32Kib.2. Restart the Library3. Datacopy from SmartDisk to VTL [Block Size =32Kib]4. Restore from VTL -
