After completing a workstation migration pilot, most workstation owners experienced a TPM error while trying to login to Office applications. After trying to remediate, we believe the issue may be related to the profile conversion during the migration. Some things we’ve tried to resolve this issue are removing the workstation from Azure AD, updating registry keys, running and office repair, and trying to reproduce the error in various workstations with different users. This is an example of one of the error messages.
"Your computer's Trusted Platform Module has malfunctioned. If this error persists, contact your system administrator with the error code 80090016"Delete the office certificate. A new certificate will be generated the next time the user logs into an Office app. This should resolve the TPM error.
