When Microsoft Desktop Search version 3.0 is installed on the local machine and self service migrator is run to migrate lotus NSF files to outlook PST files.
The PST file cannot be open properly with Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007.
The Self Service Migrator will successfully migrate the data with no data migration errors. The file name is formed correctly but when outlook launches and tries to connect to the data file it will show non English characters and fails to open the personnel folder.
This is caused by Microsoft Desktop Search software is enabled and is used to index the drive that the PST file will be saved to.
Turn off Microsoft Desktop search engine during migration or Remove the local drive that will contain the PST file from been indexed.
