How to Migrate a mail-in database to shared mailbox in O365
Description

Would like to migrate a lotus notes mail-in database to a shared mailbox in Office 365. The migration wizard is creating the mailbox as a user so it is consuming another O365 paid license vs a shared mailbox that does not consume a shared license.
Cause

Due to the limited access into the O365 environment the NME tool cannot directly create shared mailboxes in O365.
It can create an unlicensed mailbox enabled user.
Resolution
- From an Exchange Management Shell It is possible to use the following PowerShell command to change the mailbox type manually:
  set-mailbox mailbox name -type shared
  Where "mailbox name" is the name of your mailbox
  Valid types are:
  - Regular
  - Room
  - Equipment
  - Shared
Additional Information

This also applies to Exchange On-Premise.
