There are some issues and support requested an extended log. How can the extended logging be enabled for QMMExch agents?
Extended logging can be enabled by selecting a checkbox under the properties of the affected server (see attached screenshot).
More verbose logging can be enabled manually, in the config.ini file of the corresponding agent, by modifying the sentry Trace2 and setting the value to 1:
Trace2=1
This will produce more information in the log files and will provide lots of Tracing information, this should be enabled only if more information is needed.
In both cases it is important to select all checkboxes for logging and to include (select) errors, warnings, and especially Tracing information.
Tracing entries are not supposed to be explained, questioned or investigated, only warnings and errors need to be investigated, tracing information is for support personnel only.
Note: CSA (Calendar Synchronization Agent) is an exception, very detailed logging (for troubleshooting purposes only) can be enabled for CSA, the steps are explained in the KB article 88019.
It is not always advisable to let the agents run with extended logging always being enabled, this might slow down agents performance and consume resources and might as end result cause outages.
