The question mark on a mailbox represents a symbol for the "switch status" of a mailbox.
There are three possible statuses of a mailbox displayed in the console: switched, not switched, unknown.
Question mark in a blue circle = unknown switch status or a mailbox has not been created in target yet
No question mark, shown as sheet of paper = mailbox has been created, switch status is known to the tool, mailbox has not been switched yet
Green check mark = mailbox has been switched.
After a new mailbox synchronization job has been created eg. in the "All Mailboxes" collection all mailboxes will appear with a question mark.
To update the information about the switch status (and remove the question mark) you should right-click the mailbox synchronization job and select the "Refresh Switch Status" option.
.
When clicking "Refresh Switch Status" on the QMM console it's checking with ADAM to verify if users are switched or not switched.
In this situation the attribute "Aelita-Amm-Switched" is set to "Not Set" so it's displayed within QMM as a blue circle and a white question mark when viewing the members of the collection.
To resolve this you must find the user within the ADAM Database and change the setting manually to "True" or "False"
