When accessing Tools-Defaults in the Migration Manager console, General Tab, select ADAM server, the Username and Passwords are grayed out. The same is true when trying to access this option directly on the Calendar or Mail Synchronization properties - Connect to ADAM - Select ADAM server. Is it possible to specify a different account?
The auxiliary account that is used by various Migration Manager components to access ADAM database can only be modified by right clicking the "Exchange Migration Project", selecting Open Project and specifying the account on the "Set Auxiliary account" page.
IMPORTANT:
1.This account will require Full Admin rights in the project database. Otherwise the error: "Failed to bind to QMMADAM (dn=) as user domain\service_account" will be logged in the Quest Agent's log files.
2. When the new Auxiliary account is specified on the Open Project Wizard the changes are not immediately propagated to all the agents. This change will be reflected immediately only under Tools-Default ... menu. Please go to Tools - Default ... and click "Apply these properties to all instances of the ..... Agent". You need to repeat it for both Mail Source Agent and Calendar Agent.
Applies to all versions of Migration Manager for Exchange.
