When performing test Active Directory migrations in a lab environment, all (or most of) licenses have been used, how can the license count be reset?
There is no way to delete or reset the license count.
The only possible way to release (free up) some of the licenses is to undo the migration session and/or undo the migration for some of the objects.
If this is a test environment then a new project can be created. A new project will always reset the license count.
Note: This approach can be used only when testing the tool and performing test migrations in lab environment.
The best approach is to contact the Account Manager (sales representative) from Quest and request a larger license, explaining the situation.
If a full (production) license has been purchased it will not reset the trial key if using the same project.
This is expected and is by design.
If the migrated users were migrated when using the trial license and these users were live users which have to be migrated in production then re-migrating them with the production key will not count a second license. Re-migrating such users is not necessary but can be always done, it will not consume additional licenses.
