Black screen after a machine is moved -
Description
After using the Resource Updating Manager and a machine is processed, then moved to a new domain, a user may logon to the server and only see a black screen when using a VM Console or RDP. -
Cause
This issue is related to the UAC or User Account Control. -
Resolution
Disable the "UAC" from the Registry may be a workaround.
From an alternate computer that is located on the same subnet or from the RUM server, use the "Connect Network Registry" feature from the Registry Editor and disable the "UAC" on the newly moved computer.
1. File > Connect Network Registry
2. Go to the following path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
3. Double-click EnableLUA from the right side to open its settings
4. Set the value to 0 and then select OK.
5. Restart your computer for the change to take effect.
6. Logon to the computer.
