Description
OCS/Lync Report Pack has been installed. All the pre-requisites have also been installed. However the OCS/Lync Server node missing in MessageStats Console. OS is Windows 2008 R2

Cause
This is due to an issue with certain Windows Server 2008 R2 machines where one may experience the Server Manager being unable to open Roles and/or Features in the MMC. The error it usually comes back with is Unexpected error refreshing Server Manager: The remote procedure call failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BE). Error 1601 may also be found in the Event Log.

Resolution
This Microsoft issue, affecting proper functioning of the OCS/Lync Report Pack, is resolved by downloading and installing System Update Readiness Tool from Microsoft website.

After the System Update Readiness Tool has been installed the OCS/Lync Report Pack may have to be reinstalled.
