Description
Error received when trying to Connect to an Exchange Server to discover the Organization:
"Extended MAPI Error Description: An unexpected error has occurred.
MAPI was unable to load the information service emsmdb.dll. Be sure the service is correctly installed and configured.; Component: MAPI 1.0; Low-level Error: 0x00000000; Context: 1026" -
Resolution
The emsmdb.dll is a residual dll file left over from Exchange System Manager.
1. Close the MessageStats Console.
2. Verify that Outlook 2003 and all appropriate service packs are installed.
3. Run the FIXMAPI.EXE Utility found in the "C:\Windows\System32" directory and reboot the System.
4. Launch the Console and connect to the Exchange Server.
