LiteSpeed Maintenance Plans cannot backup READ ONLY Databases -
Description
Databases in Read_Only mode are grayed out in the Maintenance Plan window when selecting which Databases to backup.
They are not backed up when Backup All databases is selected. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
1. Download the hotfix called LiteSpeed for SQL Server 5.1.1.1208 Hotfix for SOL57339 from SupportLink.
2. Read the Readme file before installing the hotfix.STATUS

Additional Information
This is not a limitation of LiteSpeed, but of Microsoft SQL Server.
You cannot backup read-only databases since backups update the tlog with backup history, and in read-only mode that is not possible.
As a possible workaround, use DTS to copy the objects and data to another serverandback it up from there.
