“The path is not of a legal form.” when restoring to a new database with multiple NDF files (specific backup)

Data Files step displays files for restore . However, restore fails with an error:

"Unexpected termination on thread: 0, Return code: x2DB4

RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
The media family on device LiteSpeed for SQL Server backup file is incorrectly formed. SQL Server cannot process this media family.
Read on "VDI_0652B951-FD31-4DB7-B1ED-E176C43AD74E_0" failed: 995(The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.)"

If you upgrade to version 7.0.4. this will prevent the issue moving forward but I am afraid nothing can be done for the backup files already created. Any new backups created by 7.0.4 should not have the problem. Although because of the bug XP_RESTORE_FILELISTONLY does not return all files, the backups can still be restored as the data is intact and not affected by the issue. If the backup is required for restore, please use SSMS and run xp_restore_database.
