Title
LiteSpeedsetting.ini was corrupted during Instance Configuration when run on a server with multiple instances. -
Description
When running Instance Configuration on a server with multiple SQL instances, data is partially overwritten and the LiteSpeedSettings.ini file becomes corrupted. Caused when configuring native backup statistic collection setting. -
Resolution
Workaround:
1. Remove corrupted INI file - LiteSpeedSettings.ini. Default location is C:\ProgramData\Dell\LiteSpeed\SQL Server
2. Go through the Instance Configuration Wizard again.
3. On update native statistics step, change schedule to run daily, once a day.
4. Finish instance configuration wizard. The new LiteSpeedSettings.ini file is created.
5. Then, open update native statistics job on each instance and change schedule run time (occurs once at) to 1AM, 2AM, 3AM and so on. To have them run one after another and not at the same time.
If there is a need to collect more frequent native statistics, schedule the jobs to run more often. It is important to make them run at different times.
