Error: "Failed to Login to SQL Server" when backing up or restoring using LiteSpeed. -
Description
Access to remote machine is via an alias created in SQL Server Client Network Utility. The extended stored procedure 'xp_sqllitespeed_version' returns the error:
"failed to login to sql server" -
Cause
The extended stored procedure 'xp_sqllitespeed_version' is one of the first steps in LiteSpeed backup and restore procedures.

Resolution
WORKAROUND:
Use the Native SQL Server backup and restore.
