LiteSpeed SSIS Package Upgrade - cannot create c:backup when opening maintenance plan -
Description
Error: after upgrading to Version 6.0 when opening or editing a maintenance plan "LiteSpeed SSIS Package Upgrade - cannot create c:\backup because a file or directory of the same name exists."

Cause
When Litespeed is installed locally to a Windows 2008 server hosting a SQL instance. Connections to that instance fail with the error "failed to login".
Windows 2008 uses, by default, IPv6 for internal TCP/IP communications this in turn causes "Litespeed" to try to connect to a local SQL instance on a IPv6 port. This fails if the SQL instances is not configured to use IPv6. Windows 2003 for example does not have this issue because it does not support IPv6 "out of the box" and communicates internally using IPv4. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
1. Enable "named pipes" on both for both the server and client on the SQL box. (use SQL configuration manager)
2. Setup a SQL alias using the SQL instances's IP address and port. (this is the perfered solution)

Windows 2003 for example does not have this issue because it does not support IPv6 "out of the box" and communicates internally using IPv4.Workaround: Create a SQL alias pointing to the IP and port used by the SQL instance or , using the SQL server configuration manager applet, enable named pipes for both the server and client.We're just not getting far enough for the "failed to login' message to appear. Most customers use the alias to get past the problem.

Additional Information
LiteSpeed 6.0 maintenance plan execution will always try to create that folder C:\Backup\Log. The error appears because the login for the SQL Server Agent account does not have sufficient rights to create the folder.
