Description
Event id 13635 in the InTrust log for one or more computers with one of the following messages:
"Cannot install the agent on 'Server' because of an error. Error text: Cannot register agent on the server (No such host is known. (Win32 error:11001))."
or
'Cannot install the agent on 'Server' because of an error. Error text: Cannot access remote Service Control Manager (Access is denied. (Win32 error:5)).' -
Cause
These messages (especially the first) point to issues with DNS resolution in your environment. -
Resolution
- Confirm that you can ping those servers from the InTrust Console by short name, e.g. Server1 and by fully qualified domain name, e.g. server1.mydomain.myroot.com.
- Confirm that you can ping the InTrust server from those servers by short name and FQDN.
- Attempt to browse \\server1\admin$ and \\server1.mydomain.myroot.com\admin$ to confirm resolution as well as permissions to this share.
- Also check if any Firewall (Windows or Network) enabled to restrict communication between Agent servers and InTrust servers.
- Also if you have done Agent upgrade or re installation, kindly wait for couple of hours.
