Error: "Unknown compression algorithm" when you try to catalog a backup created with Backup Exec (4353543)

When you try to catalog a compressed backup created with Symantec Backup Exec, the Cataloging Media page may display the following error: "Unknown compression algorithm."

The Symantec Backup Exec files Beclass.dll and Bestdutl.dll are not copied to a folder specified in the PATH environment variable on the computer where Recovery Manager is installed.

RESOLUTION:

Copy the Beclass.dll and Bestdutl.dll files from the computer where Symantec Backup Exec is installed to the Windows installation folder (%systemroot%) on the computer where Recovery Manager is installed.

Additional Information:

To open the Windows installation folder:
1. Open Windows Explorer.
2. In the Address bar, type the following: %systemroot%
3. Press ENTER.
