Rebooting computers during and after migration using RUM -
Description
In some scenarios immediate rebooting of migrated computers is not desired due to the migration process being implemented.
A reboot is needed, however just not immediately following the computer migration.
How can the Quest tool be used to reboot computers after the workstation is migrated? -
Resolution
To initiate a reboot the batch option in RUM can be used, eg. the following command will trigger a reboot a couple of minutes after the domain switch.
shutdown /r /t 05 /f /m \\%COMPUTER%
This will restart all the selected machines in RUM.
Note:
If there is a known problem with AD replication in the environment then a replication of AD can be forced after migrating the computer and before executing the command.
