What steps should be taken in regards of SharePlex if Oracle is going to be shutdown?

Resolution
SharePlex is an application to Oracle and as such should be shutdown before the Oracle database is shutdown. In the system startup scripts and other scripts that start SharePlex and Oracle, as well as in manual operations, always start Oracle before you start SharePlex and shutdown SharePlex before you shut down Oracle.

Additional Information
SharePlex does attempt to handle loss of the database whilst it is running, but the correct procedure is to close all applications before closing a database. Please see the Shareplex Installation and Demo Guide under "Checklist for System and Network Issues".
