Target environment has existing contacts which were created via Microsoft Identity Integration Server (MIIS), IIFP (Identity Integration Feature Pack) or any other GAL synchronization tool to redirect mail. Target environment also has existing user objects with no Exchange attributes. Is QMM capable of migrating source accounts and merging into existing users on the target while resolving conflict by Email addresses for the pre-existing target Contacts?
Deleting target conflicting contacts prior to the migration is not desirable because contacts were used to populate group membership. Deleting existing user accounts is not an option because target user accounts are used for log in.
QMM supports such scenario out of the box. It will merge into existing target users and delete the conflicting contacts while preserving their group membership. LegacyExchangeDN of deleted conflicting contacts will be added as X500 addresses to the corresponding target users to preserve "reply-ability" for old email messages.
Important: It will work only if unique, not existing in environment SMTP address template is specified and used under "Exchange options" properties of Synchronization node in QMM.
