Description
When using On Demand Migration (ODM) Active Directory Directory Sync with sidHistory sync enabled, you may encounter the following error:
Write: Using global catalog server from configured DCs list: dc1.target.local, Domain=target.local Write: The parameter is incorrect Write: Failed to add objectSid of TestUser in source.local using dc1.source.local to sIDHistory of TestUser in target.local using dc1.target.local. -
Cause
Environment not configured correctly to allow the target service account access to the source -
Resolution
In this particular case, the (secondary) source service account that was added to the target Directory Sync agent, was not added in the correct format. The username should be entered as a UPN or "domain\username".
