How to Search What Details (Object Name) in Archive Databases -
Description
When trying to search for User Objects or Group Objects under the What tab on archive databases, the AD picker is not available or Subsystem is grayed/greyed out. -
Cause
This is by design. As archive databases are no longer live data, the live Active Directory objects are not selectable. Add with Events dropdown arrow must be used, and the search must be ran once to query the available AD objects in the archive database. -
Resolution
1. Create a blank search with only a date range.
2. Run or Preview the search.
3. Click Cancel in the upper right corner.
4. Click on the Search Properties button in the upper left corner
5. On the search properties at the bottom of the screen, click the dropdown arrow beside +Add with Events.
6. The Scope should default to This Object, and an available list of Objects contained in the database should be displayed.
7. Select the desired object and run the search as normal.
