Some messages do not migrate, when using a pre-Outlook 2003 client on the migration machine (4344905)

When running a mail migration from Lotus Domino or Novell GroupWise to Microsoft Exchange, there may be some mail missing.

If running a pre-Outlook 2003 client on the migration console, it is possible that not all mail migrates because clients prior to Outlook 2003 do not have full support for Unicode text encoding.

Upgrade the Microsoft Outlook client to Outlook 2003 or a later version on the migration console.

Microsoft Outlook 2000 supports Unicode in the body of mail messages. However, Outlook data such as Contacts, Tasks, and the To and Subject lines of messages are limited to characters defined by the users code page.

Only Outlook 2003 and later versions have full support for Unicode text encoding standard.
