Subscriptions are not being sent out and the associated Scheduled Task states "Could Not Start".
Also, the following error is logged in the Scheduled Tasks log file:
"The attempt to log on to the account associated with the task failed, therefore, the task did not run.
The specific error is: 0x80070569: Logon failure: the user has not been granted the requested logon type at this computer. Verify that the task's Run-as name and password are valid and try again."
The same error above will happen when creating subscriptions with the wizard.
Report subscriptions are used to generate specific reports on a regular schedule. When MessageStats Reports are installed, the local group called MessageStats Web is created with ’Everyone’ in its membership. Members of the MessageStats Web local group can create and run report subscriptions.
However, if an account is specified to run a subscription but it is not a member of the Administrators local group or does not have "logon locally’ rights on the server on which the subscription task is scheduled to run, the task will not start.
By default, the MessageStats Web group is assigned Read/Write and Execute permissions on the %Windir%\System32\Tasks directory. If the MessageStats Web group is granted "Log on as batch job" permissions as well, accounts that are members of the MessageStats Web group, but do not have local Administrator rights on the server, can run subscription tasks
STATUS
Enhancement Request TF00445756 has been submitted to Development for a possible change when creating subscriptions, to have the subscription created and run under the service account no matter what since it will have all of the required rights. There is no ETA or if this feature will be added and/or changed.
