Is it possible to modify the Host name displayed in Oracle database agent alerts? (4331814)

ISSUE:

In the Foglight console Alarm tab, you can see that every alarm has a column item 'host name'. For the Alarms produced by the Database Agent such as Oracle, SQL Server etc, can this field be modified to show the Host name if its showing the IP address?

You can modify the host name setting in Fglam but it only affect Operating System agents.

RESOLUTION:

Once the Agent has been discovered and configured you cannot change this field since whatever the host name was configured as is part of the key for our topology tree.

WORKAROUND:

The database agent installation process uses the nslookup command to set the hostname for the agent. If the agent has not previously been created then the value can be configured by changing what is returned using the nslookup command.
