"Quest.Toad.Exceptions.BaseException: Unknown database object" error after typing . (dot) next to (4331597)

Following error occurs after typing . (dot) next to alias name in SQL Editor or after displaying the Code Completion list:

"Quest.Toad.Exceptions.BaseException: Unknown database object."

Stack trace:

at Quest.Toad.Oracle.Trl.Synonyms.SynonymTrl..ctor(String location, IConnection connection)
at Quest.Toad.Oracle.OracleScheme.ImplementTrl(String trl, IConnection conn)

WORKAROUND 1

Error can be caused by Toad not able to access one or more synonyms in the database. Perform the below steps to exclude synonyms from the Code Completion list:

1. Select Tools | Options menu option
2. Go under Editor | Code Completion
3. Check “Apply explorer filters” checkbox
4. Check “Exclude system objects” checkbox
5. Hit OK to exit
6. In Object Explorer, select Synonyms tab and select “Synonyms” node inside the tab
7. In Filter text box (which is right below Schema drop down box ) enter a filter that will not bring any synonym names in your schema such as “-*”.
8. You should see no synonyms names under Synonyms node in Object Explorer and Code Completion list.
