How to use license control in Foglight Evolve and Foglight for Virtualization
Description
To reduce license count for ESXI hosts and Virtual Machines which can be excluded from monitoring. This will help user to control the license usage for monitoring.
Resolution
Navigate to VMware Environment | Administration | Blacklist and License control
Users using Foglight Evolve can add the hosts and virtual machines under Black list which will not count towards License count
Users using Foglight for Virtualization can add hosts and virtual machines under License control which will not count towards License count
On applying this ESXI hosts and related virtual machines in the host will not collect performance metrics and will not count towards your license usage
Notes:
License usage in Administration | Manage Licenses | FE Licenses Overview dashboard is valid in the last one hour and will not update immediately after the objects are added to Black List or License Control. Please wait for one hour to get the refreshed data.
License usage in the main Administration | Manage Licenses dashboard can take longer to display the new usage data as the metric updates daily.
