Most new systems have the ability to change in BIOS to be legacy or UEFI. When new systems are obtained, a decision must be made about whether or not to utilize the UEFI mode or the legacy mode. Other systems, like tablets, only allow UEFI mode. If using the UEFI mode, a new image with the proper partition structure will need to be created. In most environments currently, there is likely a need for both a Legacy and UEFI enabled Base Image.
For ease of creating your Golden System Images for either legacy or UEFI modes, please follow these two KB articles.
As always, with all K2000 imaging, KACE recommends following our System Imaging Best Practices Guide (KB 121734)
Another difference at this time (K2000 version 3.7.120251and earlier), is PXE booting UEFI enabled devices is not possible. Booting these devices requires a USB version of the KBE, formatted as Fat32/UEFI.
