Is it possible to have an SLSXmlCache.xml file per instance in SQL LiteSpeed instead of a file per server? This file can grow quite large.
The SLSXmlCache.xml is a file created by LiteSpeed. It contains a series of xml pages; one xml entry per TSM backup. LiteSpeed can then use this cache for lookups without resorting to contacting the TSM server, thus making it perform better. However, on a busy SQL Server instance this file can grow quite large.
There is only one cache file (although a registry entry can be used to change its location/name) per LiteSpeed installation - there is no way to assign on a per SQL Server instance basis. If there are growth or space issues, the file can be safely deleted; LiteSpeed will repopulate it when the next process is run.
Fixed in Version 6.1 of LiteSpeed.
