Consider the following scenario:
You are cloning a machine which has a C and a D drive. Without Recovery Manager for Active Directory, the log files location has been set to the D drive. For the cloning process, only the C drive is selected.
The ADVL cloning process may fail with different errors hence it can be difficult to identify the root cause. The typical symptoms are:
Cloning process does not finish or halts at setting up network related settings.
During the cloning process, VMware Tools are not installed.
No Forest Recovery Agent log files are available.
