After selecting an Exchange online Mailbox as a Target Storage when you try and expand the Mailbox in the Recovery Manager console it just keeps saying Loading Items and then you get a pop up box that says. "The server is unavailable Retry – Work Offline – Cancel”
You may also get the error below.
Could not connect to mailbox /o=Exchangeorgname/exchange administrative group/cn/recipients/service account mailbox name on EXCHANGE SERVER
Details: Microsfot Exchange is not available. Either there are network problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance.
Recovery Manager for Exchange cannot connect to Exchange via RPC over HTTP through the default outlook profile.
Follow the steps below for a workaround.
1. Remove all Outlook Profiles through the Control Panel Mail 32bit
2. Create a new Outlook profile ( Do not use Auto Discovery) Manually Create the profile selecting “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” then click Next
3. Select Microsoft Exchange or Compatible services
4. Put in your Exchange server name and uncheck the use Cached Mode box and then select the service account that is being used to run Recovery Manager for Exchange and then click next and finish.
5. Open Outlook and make sure that you can connect and view the inbox.
6. Make sure that the Recovery Manager console is closed if open. Then Open it back up and add the Mailbox to the target storage.
Unfortunately, Recovery Manager for Exchange does not currenly support RPC or HTTP when connecting to Exchange 2007 or 2010
