Running a query that returns an xmltype line adds 63k of junk at the end of the document
Description
When running the below statement, invalid characters get added to the query output:
SELECT xmltype [...] AS xdoc FROM DUAL
When opening the output in a third party editor such as XML Spy or Notepad ++, invalid characters are visible at the end of the output. Please see screenshot from Notepad ++
Cause
This issue is caused by a product defect.
Resolution
RESOLUTION This issue has been fixed in Toad for Oracle 12.11. The latest version can be downloaded here.
